Open Daily 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM!
Welcome to the Wostrel Family’s Union Orchard! Stop by our Country Store and sample fresh fruit and vegetables, many baked items including pies and turnovers, or a huge selection of country staples such as Apple Butter and Pumpkin Butter. Many unique jams and preserves are also available. We are open year around from 10 AM until 6 PM daily.
The orchard has been here since 1895 and is currently being re-developed. We are scheduled to plant 10,000 new apple trees in 2013. Some peaches and pears will also be planted. Additional plantings will include five acres of strawberries and rhubarb, two acres of asparagus, and an acre of mixed berries including raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and elderberries. Please come out and “watch us grow.”
Ultimately, we will have monthly festivals such as an Asparagus Festival in May, Strawberry-Rhubarb Festival in June, Peach Festival in July, Tomato Festival in August, Apple Festival in September, and a Fall Pumpkin Festival in October.
By 2013, we will have wagon rides pulled by an antique John Deere 520 to tour the property and to enjoy a day in the country.
We know that many Nebraskans are only a generation or two removed from the farm. We value and appreciate this heritage. You will learn something new about this heritage with each visit to the Wostrel Family’s Union Orchard.
